ORganisational behavioural health

Understand what’s happening. Change what matters.

Lion Workplace works with the human and behavioural functioning of organisations — how people, relationships, leadership and organisational conditions interact to influence psychological health, behaviour and performance.

Organisations need support for different reasons

Sometimes something is going wrong. Sometimes an organisation is changing and its people, leadership or ways of working need to adapt. And sometimes capable organisations want to strengthen how they function.

01

Distress & Dysfunction

Psychological distress, conflict, management difficulties, psychosocial risk or deteriorating relationships affecting people and organisational functioning.

02

Adapt & Change

Growth, restructuring, leadership transitions or increasing complexity requiring people, roles and ways of working to adapt.

03

Performance & Development

Strengthening management, leadership, executive functioning, workplace relationships, decision-making and organisational capability.

Work with what is actually happening

Workplace difficulties do not occur in isolation. People work within relationships, teams, leadership structures, roles, expectations and organisational conditions. Understanding how these factors interact helps determine where support or intervention is actually required.

01

Individual

Psychological health, distress, behaviour, capability and the circumstances affecting how a person is functioning at work.

02

Relationships & Teams

Conflict, communication, behavioural patterns, team dynamics and relationships that support or undermine effective functioning.

03

Leadership & Management

Management capability, authority, decision-making, leadership behaviour and the way people problems are understood and responded to.

04

Organisational Conditions

Roles, structures, workload, expectations, systems and wider conditions that may shape behaviour and organisational functioning.

Where a problem appears is not always where it is being generated or maintained.

Lion Workplace seeks to understand what is occurring before determining what kind of intervention is appropriate.

Deliberately limited.
Personally held.

Lion Workplace works with a limited number of organisations so that support remains responsive, relational and informed by a genuine understanding of each workplace context.

This allows Lion Workplace to develop a deeper understanding of the organisation over time — so that emerging difficulties, changes and opportunities can be understood within their wider context rather than approached as isolated issues.

Common questions

What does Lion Workplace provide?

Lion Workplace provides organisational behavioural health support across psychological health, workplace relationships, management and leadership, psychosocial risk and organisational functioning. Support may include assessment and consultation, manager and executive support, workplace interventions, training and confidential employee counselling.

Is employee counselling confidential?

Yes. Employee counselling is confidential, subject to standard professional and legal limits such as serious risk of harm or other mandatory disclosure requirements. Organisational reporting can be structured without disclosing private clinical material.

How is Lion Workplace different from a traditional EAP?

Employee counselling is one part of Lion Workplace rather than the whole service. Lion Workplace also works with managers, leaders, relationships and wider organisational conditions to understand what is occurring and determine where support or intervention may be most useful.

Can support be provided virtually?

Yes. Counselling and consultation can be provided virtually, allowing support for organisations and employees across Queensland and, where appropriate, nationally.

Does Lion Workplace provide legal or WHS compliance advice?

Lion Workplace provides clinical and organisational support relating to psychosocial risk and workplace difficulty. It does not replace legal advice or formal work health and safety compliance advice where these are required.

How does an organisation begin?

The first step is a confidential conversation about your organisation, what is happening and what you are seeking to understand or change. From there, an appropriate way of working together can be discussed.

Begin with a confidential conversation

Every organisation is different. Begin with a confidential conversation about what is happening, what you are seeking to understand or change, and whether Lion Workplace may be the right support.
